Plan What You Eat For Losing Weight
May 26th, 2008 by weightloss
Weight loss experts always say that the one, critical virtue that people must have in their goal of dropping some pounds is discipline.
I say, discipline should be accompanied by another virtue which is just as important: diligence.
Diligence is most prominent in planning what you eat. If you want to lose some weight, you must learn how to properly decide on what food you should take in. The statement “you are what you eat” may be a cliché, but it is only a cliché because it is ever so true. Indeed, you are what you eat, so you better watch what you eat.
Planning your meals in advance has two essential benefits:
1. You’ll be able to prepare, in advance, the food you are planning to take. Hence, devise a meal plan for, say, a week, and purchase everything you need. Follow your plan and be assured of a fulfilling but healthy diet.
2. You’ll be able to control what you’ll eat. By having a meal plan and preparing only the food that’s prescribed by the said plan, you won’t have to worry about succumbing to eating more than what you have planned to eat. Refraining from the temptation of grabbing something to digest is indeed the realm of discipline, but hey, a predetermined course of action to prevent the occurrence of such a temptation is the result of observing diligence.
I’d like to call these the 3 D’s of Weight Loss: Discipline and Diligence in Dieting.
Witty? Perhaps.
Effective? Absolutely!
