Vary Your Exercises To Keep Your Body Guessing

Metabolism, metabolism, metabolism.
If you have been trying to lose some weight, then this word is very, very familiar to you. Metabolism is indeed the secret to weight loss. It refers to the body’s ability to burn substances into energy, which, of course, includes those nasty fat-causing calories.
Here’s the thing about metabolism: it doesn’t only work while the body is active, it also works when the body is at rest.
Using weights and engaging in other resistance training routines will increase your muscle mass, allowing you to burn more calories per workout session, but more importantly, allowing you to also burn calories while doing nothing. Fantastic, isn’t it? No wonder those professional athletes manage to keep their godly figures even during off season, eh?
Now, here’s a nifty little trick especially designed for weight loss dreamers all over the world…
You can train your body to burn even more calories while resting.
How?
When your body is in a period of adjustment, many processes happen within your system. Your muscles expand and contract to suit the demands of the new environment. Your nerves realign themselves to cope up with the changes. Your blood flows slower or faster, depending on what is needed. And so much more!
All of these processes, in one way or another, burn calories.
Hence, the trick is this: keep your body guessing. Allow a regular change of pace to occur. Keep it in a semi-constant state of adjustment.
Develop a workout plan. Stick to it for a couple of days. Then change it. Either change the sequencing, or change the exercises altogether. Just do new things.
Variety will help you sustain rapid metabolism and in effect help you lose weight. Variety will help you look fitter, better, and sexier.
Hence, we can truly say that variety, indeed, is the spice of life.
