Weight Loss Takes Patience
May 8th, 2008 by weightloss
A lot of people pursue weight loss plans.
Almost 95% of them give up before any substantial results can be achieved.
The reason?
Weight loss doesn’t happen overnight. Sadly, most people want instant results. A person may have a date this coming Saturday, and he’ll only start losing weight on Wednesday. And when he manages only to lose a single pound during those three days, he’d get demoralized. He’d cancel his date, and worse, he’d cancel his weight loss program.
How long does it take to lose some weight?
It really depends on how much weight you want to lose, and how disciplined and diligent you are in pursuing methods that will help you drop some pounds.
Here’s a quick rundown of approximations with regards to healthy weight loss:
· It will take you a year to lose 10 pounds IF you will burn 100 calories per day.
· It will take you a year to lose 25 pounds IF you will burn 250 calories per day.
· It will take you a year to lose 40 pounds IF you will burn 400 calories per day.
These approximations are based on the average body weight of a person, which is 150 lbs. These approximations also assume that the diet of the subject stays the same during the aforementioned periods, especially the amount of calories taken per day which is an average of 2,300.
As you can see from the discussion above, no one can lose weight overnight. Heck, no one can lose substantial weight in a month!
It takes time. There’s no quick fix to weight loss. You have to invest your days (and months) as well as your committed efforts to the goal of getting a leaner, fitter, sexier body.
So don’t get demoralized if you don’t lose enough weight for next week’s annual office dinner party. It doesn’t work that way.
But they better watch out for the new you come next year’s function!
